Information about the job:
• To provide 2nd level support
via the call logging system and also through direct communications to our
end users within SLAs defined
• To evaluate, design, develop, implement and document enhancements
to the technical environment
• To pro-actively manage change within the environment
• To keep up to date with processes and tools to maximize business potential
within the department
• To assist with, and help develop, routine processes to ensure accuracy
of documentation and management of related information
• To assist with, and help develop, technical processes for the maintainability,
monitoring and management of the environment
• Liaison with end-users to manage expectation within the scope of the
solutions provided
Information about the person:
• Must be educated degree
Level, or comparable experience
• Demonstrable experience in delivering technical solutions in the Office
System product portfolio.
• Technical Skills to include MSCE certified to Windows 2003 Server
or above; significant experience with Microsoft products and solutions including
Terminal Services, Network Load Balancing, Internet Information Services,
SQL 2000/2005, workstation operating systems (2000, XP) and Microsoft office
productivity applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Access,Project);
• Experience in script writing, remote monitoring and troubleshooting
tools and endpoint management tools would be advantageous
• Experience with ISA server
• Good experience of networking topologies and protocols and a good
understanding of the hardware involved (switches, routers wifi access points)
• Expert understanding of Internet communications (ftp, http, https,
ssl, VPN, IPSec) and Email protocols and how to troubleshoot them
• Certification in other mainstream product areas desirable
• Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise own workload
• Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team and to recognise
when problems need upgrading/escalating
• Ability to take ownership of problems and see them through to a satisfactory
conclusion
• Personal presentation must be professional at all times as attendance
at customer meetings may be required
• Current clean driving license
• Good physical health and fitness as some lifting will be required.
